If you have recently had a colposcopy and a cervical biopsy, you may have questions about how to care for yourself after the procedure. Please refer to the following instructions.
Do not insert anything into the vagina for at least 7 days. No intercourse, douches, tampons, etc.
You may take showers, but avoid tub baths for 7 days or until vaginal discharge stops.
Spotting or light vaginal bleeding is common. Please use sanitary napkins or panty-liners as needed. Do not use tampons.
Please do not call the office for results. Your results will be available for you to review with your doctor at your next scheduled appointment. If you do not have an appointment scheduled, please contact our office so that may be arranged for you.
Call the office if you note the following symptoms:
Fever (greater than 101° Fahrenheit)
Pelvic pain or cramping not relieved by Tylenol or Ibuprofen
